THe Professor is in…

Professor Jose Ramirez was first introduced to the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, like many others, by watching a videotape of the very first Ultimate Fighting Championship.  In 2006 he finally began his adventure into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by participating in a wrestling/takedown class at West Coast Jiu Jitsu and immediately was double legged into a slam. He was hooked from that moment forward.

Under the tutelage of Professor Brian Espinoza, Jose trained countless hours in the gym and competed in several tournaments culminating in earning his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in February 2017.

Since that time he has taken an active role to help guide, coach, and mentor any teammates who seek out the help.

He currently teaches the adults Gi classes on Thursday nights and Saturday mornings. He also teaches the women’s Jiu Jitsu class, as well as, covering the Open Mat where he is readily available to help spread his knowledge and to train with.

When not on the mats, Jose enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs. He enjoys watching movies, going to concerts, and playing video games. He is a fan of Lucha Libre/Pro Wrestling with a growing collection of Lucha Masks. He is also a very big fan of sleep and taking frequent naps…
